Description

Semi-matt, solvent-free acrylate paint.

Product features

For interior painting of concrete, plaster, brick, filler treated, chipboard, card-boarded gypsum board and wood fibre board surfaces. For new surfaces and also for redecoration according to directions for use. 

Recommended uses

Wall and ceiling surfaces, especially suitable for surfaces requiring frequent washing like kitchens, entrance halls and staircases. Remontti-ässä is not suitable for furniture.

Drying time at 23°C and 50% relative air humidity

Chemical resistance

Resists cleaning chemicals and weak solvents e.g. White Spirit.

Heat resistance

+85 °C, ISO 4211-2 and ISO 4211-3.

Wet scrub resistance

SFS-EN 13300 class I, ISO 11998.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 ºC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %.

Preparation

Unpainted surfaces: 
Clean dirt and dust from unpainted surfaces. If necessary, smooth down the surfaces with a suitable Presto filler. Remove sanding dust. Prime with Feelings Universal Primer or Varma Primer. Prime steel surfaces with Otex Adhesion Primer. 

Previously painted surfaces: 
Clean previously painted surfaces with Tikkurila Cleaning Agent (Maalipesu) and rinse carefully with water. Smooth down holes and hollows with a suitable Presto Filler and sand the dried surface. Sand hard or glossy surfaces to a matt finish and remove sanding dust. If necessary, prime with Feelings Universal Primer or Varma Primer. 

Painting

Stir Remontti-ässä well before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply by roller, brush or spray 1-2 times.

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Brush Cleaner) is recommended for cleaning hardened paint from the brush.

Maintenance instructions

Cleaning earliest abt. 1 month after application of the finish, if needed. 

The surfaces are cleaned with a sponge or cleaning cloth and neutral (pH 6-8) washing detergent. Very dirty surfaces are cleaned with a sponge or cleaning cloth and alkaline (pH 8 – 10) washing detergent. Rinse carefully. Dilution instructions given by the detergent producer have to be followed when preparing the washing dilution. 

The product achieves its final hardness and durability after one month under normal conditions, therefore the surfaces must be handled with care during this time. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after finishing, clean them lightly with a damp cleaning cloth.

Surfaces painted with Remontti-Ässä can be maintenance painted with same kind of waterborne paint.
