DESCRIPTION	Quick-drying water-borne adhesion primer.
PRODUCT FEATURES	Suitable for priming and undercoating both new and previously painted surfaces. Otex Akva adheres well on surfaces requiring special adhesion like glass, tiles, glass fibre, melamine, PVC-plastic, aluminium, zinc coated sheet metal and surfaces coated with alkyd and acid-curing paint. Suits also for wood, wood fibre board, chipboard and metal surfaces in dry interior premises. Not suitable for maintenance painting of surfaces painted with nitrocellulose lacquer.
RECOMMENDED USES	For interior surfaces that require special adhesion. Also for exterior window frames painted with polyurethane or acid-curing paints.

APPLICATION DETAILSApplication conditionsThe surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +8 C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %. Shallow temperature (approx. +15 °C) and fairly high humidity (50-70% RH) extend the working time of the paint and facilitate the work.PreparationRemove dirt and dust from the surface. Treat knots on bare wood surfaces with Knotting Lacquer. Wash surfaces requiring special adhesion with Maalipesu cleaning agent and rinse carefully with water. Sand the surface matt. Remove sanding dust. 

Previously painted surface: 
Wash the surface with Maalipesu cleaning agent and rinse carefully with water. Sand the surface matt. Remove sanding dust. PaintingStir Otex Akva carefully before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply with brush, roller, paint pad or spray. On large surfaces it is best to apply the paint first with e.g. a furniture paint roller and level with a brush. We recommend to use synthetic brushes with multi-branched bristles. 
The surface can be finished after 5 hours with Unica Akva, Helmi finishing paint or Feelings Furniture Paint. Cleaning of toolsRemove excess paint from tools. Clean tools with water. Tikkurila Tool Cleaner is recommended for removal of slightly hardened paint.Maintenance instructionsCleaning earliest approx. 1 month after painting, if needed: The surfaces are cleaned with a neutral (pH 6-8) dish washing solution and soft brush, sponge or cleaning cloth. Clean very dirty surfaces with weakly alkaline (pH 8-10) detergent using e.g. cleaning cloth or sponge. Rinse the surface carefully. 
The product achieves its final hardness and durability after one month under normal conditions, therefore the surfaces must be handled with care during this time. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after finishing, clean them slightly with a soft brush or damp cleaning cloth.
