Description

Solvent free co-polymer emulsion paint that resists cleaning and dries to a superfine matt finish with a slight sheen.

Product features

Joker is suitable for interior painting of plaster, concrete, filler treated, brick, cardboard and wooden surfaces, also for cardboard-finished gypsum board, chipboard and wood fibre board surfaces. Suitable for new and previously painted surfaces. Not suitable for painting doors and furniture.

Recommended uses

For painting ceilings and walls in living rooms, bedrooms and children’s rooms, as well as halls and kitchens and other similar dry premises. Joker resists cleaning.

Brush, roller or spray. For airless spray application, use a nozzle 0.015” – 0.021”. Thinning: If necessary thin up to 10% with water

Dust dry after 1/2 hour, re-coatable after 1-2 hours.

Resists cleaning detergents and weak solvents e.g. White Spirit.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5˚C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %.

Preparation

New surfaces: 
Clean dirt and dust from the unpainted surfaces. Level the surface with suitable Presto filler, if needed, and sand the dried surface. Remove sanding dust. Prime with e.g. Varma Primer. 

Previously painted surfaces: Wash down previously painted surfaces with Cleaning Agent (Maalipesu) and rinse carefully with water. Sand down hard, glossy and with alkyd paint treated surfaces matt. Remove sanding dust. Fill cracks and holes with suitable Presto filler and sand the dried surface. Remove sanding dust. If priming is needed, use e.g. Varma Primer before coating. 

Painting

Stir Joker well before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply by brush, roller or spray 1-2 times.

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water and soap. Tikkurila's Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) is recommended for cleaning hardened paint.

Maintenance instructions

Avoid cleaning approx. 1 month after the painting work. 
Clean surfaces with a neutral (pH 6-8) detergent using a sponge or cleaning cloth. Very dirty surfaces can be cleaned with a weakly alkaline (pH 8-10) detergent using e.g. a cleaning cloth or a sponge. Rinse the surface carefully. 
Follow the dilution instructions of the detergent producer when preparing the solution. 

Handle the surface with care, ultimate durability and hardness is reached in approx. one month under normal circumstances. If cleaning is needed, use a damp cleaning cloth.
