Product properties

Suitable for lime plaster and surfaces previously painted with lime paint in interior and exterior works.

Application method: Apply with a brush suitable for lime paints.
Drying time: Touch-ready after 1 - 2 hours. Can be repainted when the previous coat has fully bonded to the surface, but not earlier than the next day. See instructions for use.
Density (kg/l): Approx. 1.4 kg/l, ISO 2811.
Water resistance: Good.
VOC: Cat (A/a) 30 g/l(2010) Holvi has a maximum VOC content of 30 g/l.
Storage: Protect from frost. The product or container temperature must not exceed +35 °C. Do not store in direct sunlight, even under a tarpaulin. Tinted products or products in loosely closed or incomplete containers cannot be stored for long periods.

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be clean and stable. The air, paint and surface temperature must be at least +5 ºC. In hot and windy weather, the surface must be moistened before and after painting. Do not paint during or before rain, or in direct sunlight. When painting indoors, it is recommended to lower the room temperature below +20 ºC.

Mixing the ingredients

Before use, dilute Holvik lime paint with clean water in the following ratio: 12.5 kg : 8 l, 25 kg : 16 l

Surface preparation

Clean off dirt, dust and salts. It is recommended to remove dirt with a soft brush, without rubbing the surface. Wash moldy and mildewed surfaces from bottom to top with Tikkurila Homeenpoisto mold remover, following the instructions for use. The surface to be painted must be undamaged, clean and free of any organic paint. Mortar with a high cement content is not suitable as a base for lime paint. Remove loose and weakly bonded layers of lime paint with a steel brush (stainless steel brush) or high-pressure washing in such a way that
it does not damage the surface. To ensure a flat surface with uniform roughness, the necessary repairs can be made with a mortar of a similar composition to the surrounding surface.

Caution! Windows, metal and natural stone surfaces, etc. must be carefully covered during painting.
