Mapeband B T is a self-adhesive tape consisting of a butyl rubber adhesive compound protected by a polypropylene fleece. Mapeband B T is protected by an easily removable siliconized protective film. Mapeband B T is designed for applications where high adhesion to materials such as concrete, plaster or ceramic coverings is required, as well as a smooth, absorbent surface. Mapeband B T is compatible with all Mapei cement and organic tile adhesives. Mapeband B T is characterized by: • excellent adhesion properties, especially with plastic, glass, steel, polycarbonate and wood; • high workability and deformability; • can be applied without heating; • excellent adhesion at low temperatures; • waterproof and self-sealing; • excellent stability when heated; • easily removable protective film; • not subject to oil migration; • without solvents. The product must be protected from UV rays. WORK DESCRIPTION Preparation of the base Mapeband B T must be applied on a clean, dry, smooth surface without dust. For application at temperatures between 0 °C and +5 °C, make sure that there is no frost or condensation on the surface. In the case of porous substrates, it may be necessary to reinforce the surface with a suitable primer from the Mapei product range. No special tools are required to install Mapeband B T. Application of the product Begin to remove the protective film covering the adhesive part and place Mapeband B T in the intended area. Press the tape against the base to avoid air bubbles under it. When connecting the tape to the drainage connection part, make at least 5 cm overlaps.
