MATERIAL DESCRIPTION:

Cold mix asphalt is an open mix produced from a mixture of crushed natural aggregate surrounded by liquefied road asphalt. The product is used for partial restoration of bituminous and concrete surfaces, filling potholes, potholes, local leveling or profiling of road surfaces, pavements, as well as spaces around slabs or channels, cable entries and expansion joints.

The mixture is suitable for leveling surfaces around metal devices such as manholes or level crossings located on the surface. The mineral and asphalt mixture can be used at ambient temperatures from -20°C to +40°C. The finished product is sold in sealed bags of 25 kg. The high quality of production is ensured by the Factory production control system implemented in the company, which meets the requirements of the valid technical approval AT/2006-03-2129/3.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

Before applying the mixture, clean and dry the surface of the defect from ice, water, snow, dust, stones, etc., using a brush, broom or air blower. It is recommended to cut the edges of the defect vertically - preferably using a punch or a circular saw. In this way, the defect area does not require priming, however, priming with a bituminous primer will improve the durability of the mixture. Fill the gap with the mixture, taking into account its volume reduction during compaction. After filling the gap defect, the surface should be carefully compacted manually or with a vibratory roller or road roller. The thickness of the layer should be about 2.5-4 cm. If areas deeper than 4 cm are filled with the mixture, they should be filled with several successive layers, compacting each layer separately, no more than a 4 cm layer. The maximum thickness of the layers should not exceed 15 cm.

The mixture can be applied at ambient temperatures from -20°C to +40°C. Use during rainfall is not recommended. The mixture can be used for pedestrian and bicycle traffic immediately after repair. Due to the relatively slow hardening process of the embedded mixture, it is recommended to limit the permitted vehicle speed when repairing the pavement in sensitive areas, such as narrow gaps and turning movements around intersections.

The mixture remains flexible for some time after proper application. Hardening occurs gradually, first as a result of compaction, then as a result of ambient temperature, evaporation of volatile components and traffic. When using the mixture at an ambient temperature above 20°C, it is recommended to sprinkle the prepared mixture with 0-2 mm sand to prevent it from sticking to the surfaces of cars and shoes. To maintain the best properties, the temperature of the mixture should not be lower than 15°C (for the mixture to be better processed, it is recommended to store it for at least 24 hours at a temperature of +15°C).

STORAGE:

The mixture can be stored in the original, closed package for 12 months from the date of manufacture.
