Product features

Interior painting of concrete, plaster, filler treated, brick, cardboard, chipboard, gypsum board and wood fibre board surfaces according to instructions. Suitable also for maintenance painting of previously painted surfaces.

White. Tintable in colors marked with A from Tikkurila Symphony color card. Half of the colorant amount shown in the tinting formula is used in tinting. Shades may differ slightly from the color samples. Check the shade when using Siro Matt as a top coat.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +10°C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %. 

Preparation

Unpainted surfaces: 
Remove all dirt and dust from new surfaces. Smooth the surfaces with a suitable Presto filler, if needed, and sand the dried surface. 

Previously painted surfaces: 
Wash down previously painted surfaces with diluted Maalipesu cleaning agent and rinse carefully with water. Sand hard or glossy surfaces matt and remove sanding dust. Fill holes and cracks with a suitable Presto filler and sand the dried surface. 

Painting

Stir Siro Matt well before use and thin with water, if necessary. Apply one or two coats with a roller, brush or spray.

Cleaning of tools

Remove excess paint from tools and clean with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) is recommended to be used for cleaning hardened paint.

Maintenance instructions

Cleaning earliest abt. 1 month after application of the finish. 

The surfaces are cleaned with a well squeezed damp sponge or cleaning cloth and neutral (pH 6 – 8) washing detergent. Dilution instructions given by the detergent producer have to be followed by preparing the washing dilution. The surface must be dried after the cleaning. 

The product achieves its final hardness and durability after one month under normal conditions, therefore the surfaces must be handled with care during this time. If the surfaces need to be cleaned soon after finishing, clean them lightly with a damp cleaning cloth.
